Pakistan v England - 2nd One Day International - at National Stadium, Karachi - 1987/8 - England Innings A 165 run opening partnership between England openers Graham Gooch and Chris Broad threatened to turn the chase into a cakewalk before some accurate bowling ensured a tight finish. With 61 needed in 8 overs Engtland were under pressure, and eventually Fairbrother hit a 6 off the final ball when 4 were required for the win. Pakistan v England - 1st One Day International - at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore - 1987/8 - Pakistan Innings

Image
Pakistan v England - 1st One Day International - at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore - 1987/8 - Pakistan Innings Half centuries to openers Rameez Raja and Shoaib Mohammad put the pitch into perspective as Pakistan cruised to victory without the loss of a wicket. The ease with which the pair scored off a listless attack after a limp batting display by the visitors was worrying for England on what now looks like it could be a very tough tour. Pakistan went into the match as underdogs without the star pair of Javed Miandad and Imran Khan but won easily in the end, Man of the Match being Wasim Akram who left his batsmen an easy target to chase.
