 BCCP President's XI v England XI - 3 day match - at Pindi Club, Rawalpindi - 1987/8 - England XI 1st Innings


The England XI were given a good start by openers Chris Broad and Tim Robinson but the rest of the top order struggled before 40's to keeper Jack Russell and offspinner Eddie Hemmings carried them into the lead.

Offspinner Sajjad Akbar continued his fine allround game with 4-68 from 34 accurate overs, and the seamers also impressed for the home side.

A declaration left little time to force a result but time enough for some decent practice for both sides and a chance to impress the selectors.
